Stir with ice and strain
2 dashes plain sugar or gum syrup
½ Fernet Branca (1½ oz, 4.5 cl)
½ Cognac brandy or rye whisky (1½ oz, 4.5 cl)
Stir with a spoon, strain into a cocktail glass, and squeeze lemon peel on top
Serve in a cocktail glass (4.5 oz)
