brandy inhaler

Type:

Glasses & Vessels

Description:

The depicted glass, produced by Riedel, is sold as a Scotch glass, but fits the form of the classic brandy inhaler. When the snifter first came into vogue, it took on the name 'inhaler' as well, before receiving its own name. The term derives from the design, whereby one inhales the cupped aromas of the drinking (usually brandy) before sipping.
