National Margarita Day

National Margarita Day is celebrated annually on February 22nd.

The "Her Majesty" Margarita is known to be the most famous tequila-based cocktail served all over the world. Margarita is a cocktail that usually consists of:

tequila
triple sec(or other orange flavoured liqueur)
lime or lemon juice

It's important to select the best ingredients for your Margaritas, use the freshly squeezed citrus juice and 100% agave tequila or mezcal.

Margaritas can be served on the rocks (shaken with ice), frozen (blended with ice), or straight up (without ice).

There are many various stories and myths, starting as early as 1938, about how and when the margarita was created.

The first documented reference of the margarita is from Esquire Magazine, the drink of the month from December, 1953, the margarita cocktail was the “Drink of the Month”. The recipe as printed was:

1 ounce tequila
Dash of Triple Sec
Juice of 1/2 lime or lemon

Pour over crushed ice, stir. Rub the rim of a stem glass with rind of lemon or lime, spin in salt—pour, and sip. (Wikipedia)

The margarita was further popularized with the 1977 release of Jimmy Buffett’s song “Margaritaville”.
