cocktail shaker
Type:
Description:
The "pitcher" or "teapot" style of cocktail shaker, now more commonly seen as an ornament than a tool; the most interesting feature of this type of shaker is that they were typically designed to hold a larger quantity of liquid and ice, so to produce a larger number of cocktails at a time than a Boston or three piece center-pour shaker. This shaker style was probably the second type of shaker to be invented. It was meant for the home, politely designed to superficially match one's tea service and to banish any images of a bar.
